Noah, Butler awarded All-Defense Team

We all saw it coming. Of course Bulls big man Joakim Noah, aka DPOY, would be awarded First Team All-Defense. He was the leading vote getter and now we all sit back and await to see if he gets named to All-NBA First Team, in which he will receive his 500k bonus. Along with Joakim, fellow teammate Jimmy Butler walks away with 2nd Team honors. Both known as premier defenders in the league, it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone they were acknowledged for it.

Taj Gibson however, failed to make the cut, and so he will miss out on his 250k bonus many Bulls fans were worried about earlier this season. That is of course until the duo of GarPax cleared space to ensure they would stay under the luxury tax if he and Jo both were able to reach their bonuses. The Bulls will now have an extra $250,000 in salary cap to spend this offseason. With Taj all but a lock for the starting PF next season, it would be hard to imagine him off the list again next year. Taj (21 votes) and Kirk Hinrich (7 votes) both received All-Defense votes.
