Chicago Bulls rookie Nikola Mirotic continues to improve as the season progresses, and it has not gone unnoticed as the NBA has announed that Mirotic is Kia’s Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for December.
So far this season Mirotic has averaged 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist in 18 minutes of play, while in December those numbers improved to almost 10 points per game and 5 rebounds. Mirotic put up double figures in 9 of Chicago’s December games, including a double-double on December 3rd (11 points and 12 rebounds) in a 102-95 win over Charlotte. Mirotic also recorded his career high when he scored 27 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in the Bulls’ impressive win over Memphis on December 19th.
Mirotic’s progression should continue to turn heads in the NBA and definitely put him in the Rookie of the Year conversation. For Bulls fans there should be nothing but excitement over the development of Nikola Mirotic as he continues to establish his presence in the Bulls’ deep and talented front court.
